A series of very interesting, superbly written, articles. Really excellent value for money. Such a shame we only get it once a month!

I gave a subscription to a 92 year old friend, and he loves it. He hands it on to me and I have also hugely enjoyed it and the excellent variety of articles and writers.
Review by Judy Allen
Great cartoons, intelligent articles by good writers who are always interesting or funny, often both, and though I think young people would enjoy a lot of it, it is aimed at older people BY older people, who are personally aware we do exist and are worth writing for! Enjoy the letters page too.
Review by Christine
Excellent articles by people in the real, world, no airy fairy nonsense, brilliant

Well written articles that. Even the ones I think I will not be interested in are well worth the effort; I always learn something! Finally, definitely a tonic to help survive woke culture.

Review by Tony
The variety of content, the excellent contributors, the lighthearted nature,
the wonderful cartoons - funny, off the wall and sometimes quite bizarre.
Review by Magnus Irvin
It appears to be written by quite intelligent people, some of whom share the same irrational prejudices that I have.
The variety of articles and subjects makes it interesting to me. Also I've always fancied Leslie Caron.
Review by Peter Bryant
Really entertaining I would recommend it to all old fogeys like me.

Amazing varieties of articles to suit young ens as well as Oldies
Review by Gunilla
I love receiving The Oldie. Much like Richard Osman’s recent novel and my bus pass, it proves that getting old has definite advantages as well as not having to go to work unless I want to, and not caring if somebody doesn’t like me. Hoorah!
Review by Francis
Good variety of articles.
Review by Stewart of Dalbuie
I have never been one to subscribe to magazines— even when I have been a regular purchaser. However, since buying a copy of ‘The Oldie’ during lockdown I have found it the ideal companion in my reading time (after Milady that is). From humour to history, cartoons to characters, rants to reminiscences, ‘The Oldie’ is not restrained by these categories and has become the perfect anecdote, and/or antidote for something-or-other.
Review by John
A little breath of fresh air through the post every four weeks. Presenting a wonderful variety of articles, the Oldie takes the reader away from the humdrum news media. A perfect change from endless speculation repetition and prevarication.
Review by John M
This is a great magazine, and one I look forward to receiving every month. Full of interesting, varied and amusing articles. A joy.
Review by Caroline
There isn't an inch of wasted space. Every article is eminently readable, every cartoon has me smiling wryly if not in stitches. At last I've found a monthly read and I look forward to each new issue. Thank you Oldie team one and all for filling a gap that I didn't know was there. Long may you continue
Review by Maria
I love everything in it but it is a bit too expensive for me. So sorry
Review by Barry
"The Oldie" is essentially a forum for old geezers like myself. I often find myself nodding and smiling with recognition and approval when reading it. One of the highlights of the month.
Review by Sheila
Bought as an on-going gift for my husband. He loves it (plus it keeps him quiet for hours)!
Review by Chris
I used to enjoy reading Punch and I think the Oldie has taken its place with interesting articles and amusing cartoons. I have tried writing articles for it but none have been accepted yet
Review by Hilary
Varied interesting articles
Review by Antony
The Oldie is very good value for money - there can't be many magazines with so many articles and such wide-ranging content. Some regular contributors can, however, be a bit much at times and perhaps need to express their views and attitudes a little less robustly. That said, there's always something for everyone of a certain age in every issue and it's good to feel part of a lively intelligent community. The Oldie is a very effective antidote to (or even vaccine against) the predominantly youth-orientated 'culture' of today.
Review by Mike Howe
It's intelligent, entertaining, amusing, interesting and probably something else!
Review by Rosemary J
Witty, pithy, succinct and very very funny
Review by Sebastian Taylor
For people of a certain age who don't understand the word 'woke', or even its concept, The Oldie is very refreshing. We can read articles and express opinions (in our own home, naturally) without wondering whether we have used the correct term for trans, people of colour, LGBTQ+ or indeed people with pins sticking out of every conceivable place in their skin, and some inconceivable ones as well.
When it pops through the letter box my heart gladdens as I know I have a couple of days good reading written by like-minded people and have plenty of chuckles at the cartoons, illustrated of our own very thoughts.
I am glad I have a subscription as I feel I am wearing a favourite comfortable pair of slippers; and I have those as well.
Review by VIVEK
Funny and beautifully written.
Review by Richard Surman
Varied, entertaining, informative, refreshingly ‘unwoke’ ’ and always a welcome read. Keep it going please!
Review by Vivien
I think the Oldie is the best magazine I have ever come across. The articles are excellent, the advertising is geared towards the demographic which reads it and I can't praise it too highly. One request - I would like more cartoons.
Review by Juliette
Just so much to read of interest. Love it.
Review by Diana
Great read , fully recommend
Review by Christine
As a baby-boomer living amongst miIlennials I look forward each month to feeling that for a change I am 'with' people that I understand, and have similar memories to mine. Even if I don't agree with every opinion expressed it's comforting to recognise the references, share the humour and feel more a part of things.
Review by Jeremy
Life long Oldie fan. So well written.

It makes me understand I am not the only grumpy person on the planet
